How to run a trace on a plane

I have a power plane with a dynamic copper shape on it. I'd like to run a trace (different net) on it.

When I try, it simply places the trace on top of the shape and creates a line to shape error.

I tried Shape - Edit Shape, then right click on the plane shape - Properties.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

    Sometimes when a shape is out of date this can happen. Select the shape first in generaledit mode using the shape select Icon "Arrow pointing to left" then right click and select shape update.

    Also it would be worth checking and verify you have enough Line/Cline clearance for the plane properties.
