Gerber files

Hi, I am trying to create output files of my PCB design for manufacturing. I am having trouble figuring out how to create files for the soldermask and copper layers. Under artwork, I created .ART files. I feel like this is what I need for the copper layers. Am I right? If that's the case all I need to know is how to create the files for the soldermask. Thanks for any help.

    Hi,

You can also change the extensions whatever you want. In Manufacture menu select Artwork. Then you can change the film names

such as top.bs , bottom.ls  e.t.c. This will create the film extensions according your inputs.

    Regards

Normally, when creating an artwork what films/subclasses are always needed to be included? For example, for my PCB design i only need a TOP and BOTTOM film. And i also need to add the BOARD GEOMETRY/OUTLINE subclass to both the TOP and BOTTOM film right?

After putting the BOARD GEOMETRY/OUTLINE subclass, it is a zero width line but is the info included and is it the right way to include the board outline into the artwork?

I am attaching my .brd .  Previously i forgot to add the BOARD GEOMETRY/OUTLINE to the artwork so the PCB house could not fabricate the board.

Anyway, if my NPT hole diameter is larger than the maximum of the PCB house's drill size, they should be able to route/cut out the holes using the .drl file i provided?

When opening the artwork using gerbv gerber viewer and online gerber viewer, it seems that the artwork/etch size is magnified but the drill file stays the correct size(mm)..is this normal? It all looks fine in PCB Designer > plot preview. And i have set the user units and artwork output units to mm before designing the PCB..

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. Can anyone look at my board and correct any mistakes (more on the artwork than DRC errors)? I would want to fabricate this board but i do not know what files/layers/film i am missing out......Does anyone has a simple .brd sample for me to know/learn about what is the proper way to create proper gerber files?
