Problem with 16.0 Create Detail

archive
archive over 17 years ago

I've updated my system to 16.0 and was running 16.00.005 making changes to a design I had originally created in 15.7. When I tried to run the Create Detail command to create an assembly drawing I got an error, but for some reason I didn't get the error when I ran it with Detail as the active subclass. I found another hotfix and updated to 16.00.007. Now the Create Detail command appears to be completely broken. I get "*Error* eval: unbound variable - dtl_miniForm". I've tried multiple databases just to be sure and it's just not working on anything. Can I at least back out the hotfix somehow? Anyone else hit this wall yet?

    Hi,

I am running 16.0 version S013, which I think was the August hotfix. The Create Detail works but only on the Manufacturing -> Detail Subclass any other Subclass errors out. I believe this to be a bug and should be reported as a CRC. I am unaware of how to step back a hotfix.

This has already been reported as bug and will hoefully be fixed with the forthcoming hotfix-008

I am running 16.0 S019 which I downloaded the end of September and Create Detail is working fine and you do not need to be Manufacturing -> Detail Subclass for it to work. It still would be worth it to submit a ticket to Cadence to have them look into it. Mike Catrambone UTStarcom, Inc.

There are two problems. The original problem in s013 was that it would only allow you to create a detail on the Manufacturing -> Detail Subclass. I reported that problem. It was supposed to be fixed in hotfix .007. However instead of fixing the problem, hotfix .007(version 16.0 s023(v16-0-87AG)) made it worse so create detail no longer functions at all. It now returns, *Error* eval: unbound variable - dtl_miniForm. This 2nd more severe problem has also been reported. I believe it has a P0 priority so it will hopefully be fixed in the near future.
