How to select entities when running scripts

Is there a way to select all entities, controlled by the find filter, in a package library part (.dra file), when running a scrip on our entire library?
 
Example- change all text on a certain layer to a different text block. The location of the text, the drawing size and also the User Units (some will be Mils and some Millimeter) will all vary.
