IDF Export

Hi all... Does the IDF export use the library (.dra) files for export info or does it use what is in the database? It looks to me like Allegro is using the library info and not the database info. Is there a way to change that? Thanks Ken

I was under the impression that it uses the database for export. The last time I updated some part heights I forgot to update the parts in my database and the idf ended up with default part heights till I updated the database.

odd...I had outlines that only appeared in the library version of some part due to me deleting the local part outline and yet they arrear in Pro-E on import. When I export a file and import it right back into Allegro I see the same thing but after I updated the library part the IDF file looked good.

My testing in 15.x seems to indicate that there is a "master" version of every symbol in the database that is used when exporting IDF files. This master database symbol is not affected by changes made to their "local" counterparts that you manipulate through the main window at the board level, only by activating the Update Symbols command which then updates the master database symbol from the current library version (using Skill would be another method).
