Why to use Allegro System Capture – Using Page Borders

When you create a schematic, information such as the date of creation, the engineer's name, page number, design name, company logo, and so on must be captured in the schematic. Page borders provide a convenient way to document such information. Page borders also serve as a boundary that demarcates the borders for a schematic.

System Capture supports the standard page borders corresponding to the commonly used sheet sizes. You can use the existing page border symbols from DE-HDL directly in System Capture.

A default page border for a project can be set up using the Edit > Preferences menu.

Standard Page Border

You can also specify a default page border for all new projects in the site.cpm file.

All the supported page sizes are displayed in this form. The page sizes A to E are displayed along with their dimensions. Custom page sizes can also be specified here.

The page border symbols from the configured libraries can be accessed from Template.

System Capture also supports using multiple page borders in a design. Refer to an earlier post for details.
