Tip of the day – Obtaining pin voltage and currents in IR Drop analysis

After IR Drop analysis, it is important to check pin currents and voltages to understand the power integrity performance of the PCB. The tool provides VRM and SINK voltages and currents. Also, if there is an option to print the voltage and current at pin location to a CSV file, it will help you further in postprocessing.

Sigrity PowerDC provides an option to export voltage and current values at pin locations.

You can select the pin current/voltage for VRMs, SINKs, and discrete components. These values will be available in the CSV file.
