PCB plot with drill holes open

Is it possible to get a plot of the etch layers with drill holes left open in pads for through-hole components? There was a "Keep Drill Holes Open" option in Layout and I would like to do the same in PCB Designer.

John, unfortunately you cannot do this. It has been added as an enhancement request with Cadence so watch this space......

    John,

You can't select this option but if you have a custom padstack you can 'trick' Allegro into generating an open pad.  I would attach an example but it seems the new forum doesn't allow jpeg attachments.

If someone can tell me how to attach a jpeg I will show how to do this.

On the web site, you can click the Reply button above the post which will bring up the “Reply to an Existing Message” page.  Across the top of this page are tabs (Compose, Options, Related, Preview) and clicking on the Options tab gives you the ability to attach a file to the post.  I am sending this reply using email and I attached a file to it so let’s see if it actually gets thru.

    Hope this helps,

Please attach your image using the Options tab on the web page or by replying to the email with the image attached. I am interested to see how you are able to "trick" Allegro to generate an open pad during plotting.

Here you go.  A screen shot from Allegro and the resultant Gerber from a viewer (top only).
