Duplicating Placement for Indentical Group of Circuit

archive
archive over 17 years ago

Hi All,

Is there a function in Allegro Editor to duplicate the placement, fan-out and clines connection, if I have 2 groups of identical circuits and I have already placed and connected one of them?

Lets say I finished placement of one group.
I want the second group to be placed and connected exactly the same as the first group.
Both groups have same parts and circuit.

Thanks,
Newbie

I use the module approach with design reuse in almost every design I do.  Very simple and easy once you learn.  I use Cadance Capture CIS with Allegro 157. & 16.01.  To use this feature your design must be created hierachically in the schematic for this to work.

I create "sub" schematics that get reused from design to design with this method.  I self taugh this approach from the capture help files as well as the Allegro help files.  If needed I can post a brief method.
