Team Allegro to Boost Power of PCB PDN Solution – Sneak Peek at DesignCon 2011

31 Jan 2011 • 1 minute read

The Cadence booth at DesignCon 2011 will provide visitors with a demonstration of new technology that has been developed for analysis of the power delivery network (PDN) of a printed circuit board (PCB).  This new technology features enhanced static IR drop analysis, and is the foundation of a complete re-design of the power integrity tool that Allegro PCB users have worked with for over ten years.

The new PDN analysis technology features a full wave method-of-moments (MoM) field solver with adaptive meshing of all power planes and power shapes.  Any discontinuities associated with either vias or planes will have a substantial effect on power delivery and will be efficiently located with the new technology.  With accurate modeling of these structures, simulations showing the stability and sufficiency of power will give early insight into the viability of a PDN to meet design requirements.

The new technology being shown for the first time by TeamAllegro at DesignCon not only provides accurate and efficient modeling of these structures, but as this new technology is integrated into the design environment, DesignCon attendees will see that PDN issues can be located and fixed on the fly in the actual PCB design file with no translation required.

This integration of this new technology into the design and analysis environment will provide Allegro PCB designers, for the first time, the power of accurate full wave field solver technology and what-if analysis capability to optimize a PCB design without error-prone translation or back annotation.

We look forward to connecting with DesignCon visitors in the Cadence booth (#315) where we will be happy to demonstrate this exciting new technology.

Let us know if you plan to drop by and see a demo.
