Ten Reasons to Attend CDNLive Israel

5 Sep 2019 • 3 minute read

cdnlive logo breakfast bytes CDNLive Israel is coming up later this month on September 18 at the David Intercontinental in Tel Aviv. I will be attending as usual so you can expect some Breakfast Bytes posts later in the month.

1. A Day Dedicated to Your Interests

As always, the focus of CDNLive is on you, the customers. There is a sprinkling of presentations by Cadence people, mostly roadmap related, but the bulk of presentations are customers' real-world experiences.

I'm sure you'll collect lots of stuff during the day, so we'll give you a bag to put it all in.

2. Keynotes

The day opens at 9:45am with a welcome from Adar Segal, and then four keynotes from until 11:00am.

The Cadence keynote will be by Anirudh Devgan, Cadence's President. I assume it will be a version of his Smart by Design presentation introducing Intelligent System Design.

Next, it will be Shlomit Weiss, Senior Vice President of Silicon Engineering at Mellanox Technologies. Her keynote is titled Dataversity.

The third keynote will be Anat Shakked, the CEO of Nexite. Her keynote is titled The Future of Retail.

The final keynote will be Dov Moran, Managing Partner at Grove Ventures and is titled Pick the Right Investor.

3. Technical Updates

After the break, there will then be various technology overviews:

  • Custom IC and Analog
  • SoC and System Verification

In parallel, there is also a one-hour introduction to high-level synthesis (HLS) for RTL designers.

4. Technical Tracks

The rest of the day is broken up into technical tracks:

  • Custom IC and Analog
  • Full-Flow Digital Design and Signoff
  • IP and Block Verification
  • SoC and System Verification
  • PCB and System Design
  • General

Companies presenting include Intel, Mellanox, Veriest, Alango Technologies, Mobileye, Analog Value, Texas Instruments, Sonarax Technologies, Marvell, TowerJazz, Nistec, Altair, Green Hills Software, gSoC Solutions, Magicleap, Satixfy, Bar Ilan University, EDAis... and, of course, Cadence.

5. Designer Expo...and Lunch...and Happy Hour

The Designer Expo is open during registration (8:45am to 9:45am), the morning break (11:00am to 11:45am), lunch (1:15pm to 2:00pm), and happy hour (4:00pm to 4:30pm). Lunch will be served during the lunch break, of course. I think we are safe to assume that beer will be served during happy hour.

Cadence partners exhibiting will include Arm, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Samsung, TSMC, UMC, ClioSoft, Green Hills Software, Amazon AWS, HCL Software, HDL Design House, Microsoft Azure, OneSpin, EDAis, SolarEdge, imec, Inomize... and, of course, Cadence.

6. Free Books

I will be there with my book A Year of Breakfast 2018. Come by and let me scan your badge. I'll sign you up for Sunday Brunch, the weekly email, and give you a free signed copy of the book. Here are a few happy customers in Hsinchu last month. Let's do a photo like this in Tel Aviv, too.

 7. CDNLive App

Get the CDNLive app. It contains the whole agenda, and if there are last-minute changes that is where they will be communicated.

Download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play. You don't have to wait until CDNLive starts to do this, you can download it right now. If you attended CDNLive last year and didn't assiduously clean up the apps on your phone, you may have it already. You'll just need to log in again.

There is also a leaderboard game with points for submitting posts during the day, with prizes to be won.

8. Closing Ceremony

From 4:30pm to 5:30pm, there will be awards for the best presentations. The best presentation in each track will win a Bang and Olufsen Beoplay P6 loudspeaker. Then dance/percussion troupe Mayumana will play live. They use ordinary items and recycled things to make creative music. Often the audience is invited to participate.

 9. Prizes

You can win a fleece blanket by visiting 10 exhibitors in the expo and getting your card stamped. You win Cadence flip-flops by filling in the breakout survey on the app (you did download the app, right?). And you can win a deck chair by being in the top 20 on the app leaderboard and then winning the raffle.

10. Details and Registration

Full details, including a link for registration, are on the CDNLive Israel page.
