Monday: My review of Electronic Design Automation for IC System Design, Verification and Testing, and Electronic Design Automation for IC Implementation, Circuit Design and Process Technology. This is the second edition of the two volume set written by Cadence employees.

Tuesday: The invited keynote from CDNLive Boston was by Dr Bill Chappell of DARPA's Microsystems Technology Office about DARPA and their approach through projects and challenges to guiding technology in general and electronics in particular.

Wednseday: There is a lot going on with new flavors of Ethernet, all under the banner of IEEE 802.3 standards. Higher speeds for datacenters, new requirements for automotive and more.

Thursday: At CDNLive Boston, Andrew Ross of AMD presented a wealth of practical advice to using emulation as a design progresses through its life-cycle.

Friday: Video codecs are an important aspect of optimizing both channel bandwidth (especially mobile) and computational requirements. Perhaps nobody is affected more by this than Netflix. They recently reported on a big experiment they did with the available codecs and how well they work in the real world.
