Virtuoso Studio: Navigating Smarter - Introducing the Virtuoso Dashboard

12 Dec 2025 • 4 minute read

Our new AI-powered custom design solution, Virtuoso Studio, leverages our 30 years of industry knowledge and leadership, providing innovative features, reimagined infrastructure for unrivaled productivity, and new levels of integration that stretch beyond classic design boundaries. In this blog series, learn how the best analog design tools just got better to help you keep pace with your challenging design issues.

In our previous blogs in the series, we’ve already seen how enhancements like the dark theme, TrueType Fonts, LPP transparency, and notifications display bring clarity and comfort to your daily design flow.

Today, in the final post of the series, we’re introducing a feature that ties the whole experience together — the Virtuoso dashboard.

This powerful workspace management tool helps you handle multiple windows, monitor sessions, and switch contexts quickly, all from a single, streamlined interface. Whether you're working across complex designs or juggling multiple tasks, the Virtuoso dashboard keeps your environment organized and efficient.

What Is the Virtuoso Dashboard?

The Virtuoso dashboard is designed to unify the way you interact with windows and sessions across all Cadence tools running on your display. It captures dynamic thumbnails of every active window, groups them intelligently, and gives you a clean, consolidated view — making navigation smoother and multitasking far easier.

Why It Matters

Modern design work often spans multiple sessions and windows. Without a central way to manage them, it’s easy to lose track, waste time switching views, or miss frozen sessions. The Virtuoso dashboard solves this by providing:

  • A single interface to monitor and organize every open window
  • Updated thumbnails that reflect real-time activity
  • Quick controls to raise, maximize, minimize, or close windows
  • A streamlined way to oversee session health and stability

It’s all about reducing friction and giving you control over your design workspace.

Key Capabilities That Make a Difference

  • A unified view of your workspace: No matter how many Virtuoso windows you have open, the dashboard gathers them all into one neatly organized interface. Tools running in the same session are grouped together, helping you stay oriented at a glance.
  • Smart, dynamic thumbnails: The thumbnail representing each window updates every few seconds, showing exactly what’s happening in real time. This makes it easy to spot the window you need — or notice when something isn’t responding.
  • Easy navigation and search: Looking for a specific window? The built-in search bar filters your view instantly. A double-click raises any window to the front, allowing quick context switching.
  • Effortless window arrangement: For comparisons or parallel editing, you can place windows side by side. You can also minimize all windows for a clean workspace or focus better by isolating individual windows.
  • Session awareness and monitoring: The dashboard highlights sessions that may be frozen and gives you options to close or manage them through the Health Monitor. The dashboard supports older sessions (such as IC23.1), as long as the dashboard is launched from IC25.1.
  • Consistent access from any window: Every Virtuoso Studio window includes a high-visibility dashboard   icon at the top. A single click pulls up the interface — no matter where you are.

How It Supports Real Workflows

Whether you are debugging, reviewing layouts, running complex simulations, or managing multiple design contexts, the dashboard keeps your environment tidy and predictable. You spend less time searching for windows and more time designing.

For users who operate on a single monitor or switch frequently between local and farm-hosted tasks, the dashboard becomes an essential tool for maintaining focus.

Wrapping Up the Virtuoso Studio Refresh Series

With this blog, we conclude our Virtuoso Studio Refresh series — a journey through enhancements designed to make your design environment sharper, clearer, and more productive.

From readability improvements and visual comfort, to layout clarity and on-canvas notifications, and now a unified way to navigate your entire workspace, each update reinforces our goal—to help you work faster and with greater confidence.

Thank you for following along. We hope these updates enrich your day-to-day experience with Virtuoso Studio and support a more streamlined design workflow.
