Anirudh Devgan Shares Industry Insights with CNBC’s Jim Cramer of Mad Money

14 Jun 2023 • 1 minute read

As a longtime Cadence employee and a longtime viewer, I was thrilled to watch Cadence president and CEO Anirudh Devgan sit down with CNBC’s Jim Cramer for a special episode of Mad Money.

With his well-known exuberance, Jim introduced Cadence as “the best semiconductor stock you’ve never heard of but should have” and welcomed Anirudh to their interview filmed on location at an executive event in Santa Barbara, California. Their discussion shed light on Cadence’s future and industry growth and gave Anirudh the opportunity to dive deeper into the company and explain how almost any chip designed in the world today, from automotive to cloud to ones in your washing machine, uses some form of Cadence software.

Anirudh's insights during the show were phenomenal. His explanations of complex topics, including semiconductors, computational software, the CHIPS act, and chiplet-based design, made them easily digestible. He discussed how Cadence’s computational software is part of the development of cutting-edge technologies and provides critical support for companies across a wide range of industry verticals and covered why it’s important to invest in the next generation of manufacturing. Cadence not only works with semi companies, but 45% of our revenue is coming from system companies because they are doing more and more chip design.

“These chips are pretty complicated. They’re probably the most sophisticated things humans have ever built.”

In response to Jim’s comments on Cadence’s “unbelievable growth” and “extraordinary profitability,” Anirudh touted how the vast majority of our revenue is recurring in nature. And how for that reason, we can also invest in R&D. So not only is Cadence very profitable, we invest about 35% of revenue in R&D. Cramer’s response? “That's the highest I have heard of anyone who's ever come on the show!”

Watch the video to see Jim Cramer’s “mad” reactions. It’s a great time to be at Cadence!
