Cadence and NeoLogic Develop Energy-Efficient, High-Performance Processors

26 Feb 2026 • 3 minute read

Cadence recently expanded its collaboration with Israeli company NeoLogic, which develops advanced design technology for high-performance processors. The partnership focuses on creating a new generation of server processors dedicated to AI inference workloads and advanced computational applications in data centers, while dramatically improving energy efficiency.

At the heart of this collaboration is NeoLogic’s proprietary CMOS+ technology, designed to significantly reduce microprocessor complexity and transistor count. Its solution can save up to 30% power compared to state-of-the-art designs and deliver about 100X cost savings for AI inference tasks compared to GPUs. This reduction enables an exceptional performance-to-power ratio, a critical factor in an era where AI workloads are growing and data center energy costs have become a strategic challenge.

NeoLogic’s CMOS+ platform integrates seamlessly with standard semiconductor manufacturing processes, allowing the company to develop new processors through a streamlined and controlled process—from design to final product. Using Cadence analog and digital tools, such as Virtuoso Studio and Quantus Extraction Solution, NeoLogic designs the processor’s core components, verifies their performance and reliability, and ensures a precise and efficient transition from engineering concept to physical implementation. This workflow enables NeoLogic to meet the stringent standards of the AI and data center world, particularly in terms of high performance, low power consumption, and long-term stability.

Combining NeoLogic’s innovative architectural approach with Cadence’s technology platform delivers significant improvements in power, performance, and area (PPA) metrics, offering an efficient and cost-effective alternative to existing AI and server processors on the market.

Dr. Avi Messika, CEO and founder of NeoLogic stated, “Our goal is to enable large-scale AI without paying the energy price we all know today. CMOS+ technology allows us to build fundamentally more efficient processors, and our collaboration with Cadence gives us the tools to turn a bold architectural concept into full industrial implementation. The ability to work in a continuous process—from a single gate to signoff—is a key factor in achieving our goals in the AI and data center world.”

“The AI domain sets an entirely new bar for chip design, where high performance alongside energy efficiency is no longer an advantage but a basic requirement,” said Danny Wunsh, sales group director at Cadence Israel. “NeoLogic demonstrates how deep architectural innovation, combined with Cadence’s design and verification tools, can produce practical solutions for the next generation of AI and data center processors. This is exactly the type of collaboration that showcases the strength of the Israeli ecosystem.”

Cadence’s collaboration with NeoLogic reflects a broader industry trend of moving toward smarter hardware solutions tailored specifically for AI workloads, rather than simply increasing raw computing power. And Israel continues to be a central source of deep innovation in chip design.
