Motorcyclists riding through extreme conditions need a communication device that’s as rugged as the road ahead of them. That’s where Cardo Systems comes in, with their tough, dependable, and durable communicators. Most of all, their communicators deliver crystal-clear wide-band audio that’s powered by Cadence hardware and software.
Cardo Systems’ products use the NXP system on chip (SoC), which features the Tensilica HiFi 4 DSP, an integrated Cadence hardware IP. The HiFi 4 DSP is ideal for Cardo Systems’ audio, voice, and speech-processing algorithms and applications, and Cadence audio and voice codecs were their choice for implementing voice-processing algorithms on top of the DSP.
The Tensilica HiFi 4 DSP allows Cardo Systems to easily implement third-party noise reduction solutions to remove unwanted noise and provide best-in-class audio output even in extreme conditions. Whether that’s riding down a snowy slope or talking over a loud engine, Cardo’s communicators can handle it all.
Maxim Birger, a system engineer at Cardo Systems, mentioned that Cadence’s easy-to-use tools and on-time professional support have made it a delight to work with Cadence. Not just that, Cadence has opened up a window of opportunities for additional development and growth, including implementing new applications on top of the same infrastructure. In his words, “With the help of Cadence, we are now able to produce the best sounding intercom in the world because it brings all the best technology can provide into a small, light package that is durable, that is dependable, that is rugged, and, most of all, that sounds great.”
