Learn Fast and Make Things

28 Mar 2024 • 2 minute read

“Move fast and break things,” a motto coined by Mark Zuckerberg, captures the ethos of Silicon Valley where creative disruption remakes the world through the invention of new technologies. From social media to autonomous cars, to generative AI, the disruptions have reverberated and embedded themselves into our collective consciousness.

I was recently a passenger in a fully autonomous car in San Francisco and was blown away by how it seamlessly drove through the streets of San Francisco without missing a beat. Watch the 30-second video I captured to get an idea of how it feels to be a passenger.

Breaking things and causing disruptions often lead to advancements and solutions that revolutionize whole industries. Think about how autonomous cars will impact ridesharing services, themselves disruptive technologies of the previous revolution. To be a part of the current and future revolution, we all have to learn fast and make things in addition to moving fast and breaking things.

Cadence software technologies have powered the disruptive technologies of the past and will continue to power the revolutions of the future. To that end, Cadence recently released Innovus Implementation System, version 23.1, which is bundled in the Digital Design and Implementation (DDI) 23.1 release.

To learn how to use Innovus fast, if you are new to it, you can take my online course, Innovus Block Implementation with Stylus Common UI Training v23.1, free to anyone with access to Cadence Support.

The Innovus Block Implementation with Stylus Common UI training is designed to be an entry-level digital physical design course that quickly reviews the fundamentals of floorplanning, placement optimization, clock tree synthesis, timing closure, and routing optimization in addition to teaching you how to use Innovus to obtain the best power, performance, and area (PPA) for your design. You gain hands-on experience through running the labs. The labs are captured in video demos in the course that guide you as you run through the lab steps.

Cadence Training Services now offers a Digital Badge for the popular training courses. These badges indicate proficiency in a certain technology or skill and give you a way to validate your expertise to managers and potential employers. You can add the digital badge to your email signature or any social media platform, such as Facebook or LinkedIn, to highlight your expertise.

So, join me and be a part of the creative disruption by learning fast and making things!

Happy Learning,

Vinita
