System Design and Verification

See You at CDNLive! EMEA

30 Apr 2010 • 2 minute read

Today, Team Specman reported that next week's CDNLive! is shaping up to be a big event. I'm happy to report that in addition to the top notch people mentioned there, the entire ISX team will be in attendance! As is the case every year, multiple ISX related presentations are on the agenda.

"A year ago it was all about developing hardware at the leading edge of Moore’s Law. Now the focus is on developing software." commented Ed Sperling in his blog titled "EDA Focus Shifts To Software" related to the Cadence EDA360 announcement this week. If you have been reading my writings you know that I have been saying this for a lot longer and even talked about in my very first blog post titled "Do you want to buy my chip?" back in June 2008, when Cadence started corporate blogging.

While you are packing up take a minute to look over the guide below provided by ISX team member Markus Winterholer and make sure to look for us in Munich.

With EDA360, users start with an understanding of the software applications that will run on a given hardware/software platform, define system requirements, and then work their way down to hardware and software IP creation and integration. With a paradigm shift called application-driven system integration and verification, Cadence helps customers to overcome the schedule delays, cost overruns and quality problems caused by hardware/software integration failures detected very late in the design cycle.

If you want to see how Cadence tools and services can help you improve system quality by providing early software development and verification, come join us at CDNLive2010 EMEA next week in Munich.

Here are the must hear talks and demo that describe Incisive Software eXtensions (ISX) in action. ISX enables customers to simulate, debug and verify hardware and software together at a very early stage in the product development cycle.

Wednesday May 5th at 12:00
SDV04 "Early integration of embedded software into the metric driven verification process"
Here you will learn how ISX software testbenches can be used during the lifetime of a complete application-driven design flow.

Wednesday May 5th at 14:15
SDV06 "Integration of C++ software with ISX for embedded software verification"
Here you learn how ISX was applied to a typical embedded system infrastructure that includes an operating system, middleware, and a reference application. The talk highlights C++ application code verification and test and shows integration with a non-preemptive OS.

If you want to see our tools in action, join us on Wednesday at 15:15 for a demo "SW development and Virtual Prototyping using IES, ISX, and Fast Models from ARM"
Don't stay too late at the evening event since you don't want to miss the customer presentation Thursday morning.

Thursday May 6th at 8:45
SDV07 "Co-Verification of an interrupt-based firmware for a complex control sub-system"
Our verification partner EASii IC will provide an exclusive look into a current state-of-the-art software test environment where multiple platform constraints had to be met.

If you miss the presentations or demos or need further information please contact the worldwide ISX team at isx@cadence.com
