On May 23rd, 2019, Cadence announced that Thinci has elected to use the complete Cadence Verification Suite to speed up the verification of their machine-learning and AI designs. Now, Thinci can access the new technologies available through the Cadence Verification Suite to shorten their product development time by months while improving verification coverage.
“We selected the Cadence Verification Suite because it enables us to confidently verify our innovative technology and bring our machine learning and AI products to market months earlier with superior quality,” said Ke Yin, Vice President of Engineering at Thinci.
Thinci’s machine learning and AI designs are especially complex. Using the Xcelium Parallel Logic Simulation, Palladium Z1 Enterprise Emulation, and Protium S1 FPGA-Based Prototyping platforms, Thinci was able to meet the requirements of their designs more efficiently than ever before. Thinci also enjoyed the use of the Cadence Verificaiton Suite’s planning and management capabilities through vManager, smart bug-hunting features, and more.
With Cadence’s help, Thinci’s engineers shrank their IP and block-level regression times, and they also used incremental build technology to reduce their turnaround times for often-elaborated designs like those required for machine learning or AI devices.
Cadence saw great improvements in Thinci’s verification engine performance once Thinci began using the Cadence Verification Suite. After six months of use, Cadence observed a 1.3-1.4x speedup for simulation with Xcelium, and an 8-10x speedup for software verification using Protium when used in a congruent flow with Palladium.
