Time to Play - You Can Now Run Your e Code on EDAplayground

5 Dec 2014 • Less than one minute read

Over the years I've often hoped to have the ability to show someone (a customer, or one of our field engineers) a bit of e code, and explain what it actually does. People say that a picture speaks more than a 1,000 words, so you could say a bit of code does have the same effect on engineers.

Well, since the beginning of this week you can do exactly that with your e code on a very neat website called http://www.edaplayground.com. The website is powered by the cloud, and lets users edit some code, and then pass the code to some tools for execution. The results (log files and VCD information) is passed back to the user. This is really cool, since you can now code up some stuff and try it out without having to have access to a tool installation – perfect for sharing, or for people who want to learn by doing (i.e. students of MOOC like this one https://www.udacity.com/course/cs348 ;-) )

We’ve put up a couple of examples and I’ve captured the essentials to get you started in this video:

Happy sharing,
