The Cadence Protium System is used for prototyping. It is a hardware platform that implements the design. It accelerates the execution of design and its verification.
The Protium System offers the highest performance and fastest bring-up times for pre-silicon software validation of billion gate designs. The Protium X2 Systems use FPGAs developed by AMD (Xilinx).
This Protium course is based on Protium 22.05 ISR3 version and covers the modules:
This course starts with an “introduction,” where it first links Protium with other verification platforms to show where it lies in the big picture. It also compares it with Palladium and simulation, along with its usage and limitations.
After an introduction, it gives more details and covers the whole Protium flow, which includes three stages at a high level, which are Compile, P&R, and Run.
Then it covers all these stages in detail. At first, it covers ICE compile flow and IXCOM compile flow steps in detail, and then it explains P&R and Run, which is common for both ICE and IXCOM modes.
The module “Running the First Design on the Protium System” covers all the items required for running your design on the Protium system:
Lastly, it contains the lab for both ICE and IXCOM flow with detailed steps to exercise the features provided by the Protium system. The lab provides a practical example of multiple counters and exercising their signals for force, monitor, and deposit features, along with frequency calculation using a real-time clock.
The Introduction to Protium course is now available on the Cadence support page.
There is also a Digital Badge available. You will find the badge exam opportunity after you complete the online training or instructor-led training.
