UVM World Community Site Now Available!

18 May 2010 • 1 minute read

Yesterday morning, the verification world was buzzing with the first release of the Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) standard library and documentation from Accellera. This represents a major milestone for Accellera as well as for the EDA industry, since it is the first time that all the major verification vendors have aligned on a single methodology.

Yesterday afternoon, Cadence followed up the Accellera release with the launch of the UVM World site, a place for the entire UVM community to gather in support of the new standard. The site includes such familiar elements as a forum for questions and answers and a blog for UVM experts, with additional capabilities coming online in the next few weeks.

Cadence decided to create UVM World because we saw the need for just such a community site. The incredible success of the OVM has been due in no small part to OVM World, so we felt that the UVM would gain similar benefits. Although the UVM is based very closely on the OVM, it deserves its own dedicated site.

Be assured that UVM World is a true community site. Any UVM vendor can promote their products and services in the "UVM Commercial Announcements" forum and include their logo on the ecosystem page. Anyone can join the forum or post comments to the blogs; no one screens the registrants. No registration at all is needed for downloads.

We will be working with vendors and users to add additional bloggers to the site and to provide links to external blogs, articles, press coverage, and other sources of UVM information. If you have any ideas or suggestions for UVM World, please feel free to comment here or to start a thread on the site's UVM Forum. After all, the UVM is really about you, not us!

The truth is out there...sometimes it's in a blog.
