DEI@Cadence: Celebrating IWD 2024 at Cadence Ireland

Happy International Women’s Day!

Every March, we celebrate International Women's Day to honor the women in our lives who are impacting the world and setting the tone for the next generation.                                         

Cadence Women in Ireland Network (CWIN) celebrated International Women's Day (IWD) 2024 by hosting engaging events spread across two days, March 5^th and March 6^th, 2024. All the events were open to all Cadence Ireland employees to strike #InspireInclusion, which is the theme of 2024 International Women's Day. Inspire Inclusion means supporting and investing in women to make things better for everyone.

To start the celebrations, CWIN arranged and distributed personalized coffee mugs to all women employees with the “A Real Wonder Woman” caricature on one side, the name of the woman employee underneath, and an empowering quote on the other side, printed on them. A personalized card wishing every female woman a Happy International Women's Day! was also arranged.

On the first day of the IWD celebrations, the CWIN invited all employees for Coffee Walk to enjoy a walk with colleagues in the spirit of wellbeing and grab a free coffee at a nearby café. Great participation at both Cork and Dublin sites!

This was followed by a live chat session with Tina Jones, Sr. VP Global HR. The chat session was streamed live in all Ireland offices. Tina shared great insights for Cadence Ireland on leadership, mid-career growth, and work-life balance. It was an engaging session, and we all learned some great leadership tips based on her experience. Being Human, the value of relationships, building trust with your teams to maximize productivity, and the importance of continued learning were the key highlights of the insights that Tina shared. Thank you, Tina Jones for a very inspiring candid session and your advice on various topics.

On the second day, the CWIN team kicked off the events with savories and a welcome note for all Cadence Ireland employees by Maeve (HR Manager & Business Partner) and Amanda (Sr Group Director – Finance).

We geared up the International Women’s Day celebrations by hosting a session It's All Within You. We invited six women employees from Cadence Ireland to share experiences from their professional journeys with fellow employees. The session was an inspiration to believe in oneself and it was great learning from fellow colleagues. 

To add the fun element to the whole event, the team organized a fun game “Name that Dame!”, which involved one and all. The game was based on inspiring women with the intent to know about them and learn from their journeys in leisure time. It was fun trying Name that Dame and knowing about all the dames :).

As part of IWD celebrations, we also ensured that while we celebrate, we also take out time to give back to society. We joined hands with Suicide or Survive (SOS) and invited everyone in Cadence Ireland to support SOS by creating their “Life’s Little Emergencies” kits which are sold as part of their SOS wellness program. SOS empowers organizations to change the culture surrounding mental health in their workplace.

Overall, it was a fantastic IWD week here at Cadence Ireland and we kept the #InspireInclusion theme alive at the IWD celebrations with a wide range of events for all employees. We ensured that we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace that supports everyone. Alongside, we celebrated women at Cadence!
