Last month, Cadence partnered with Girl Geek X for the first time, hosting a virtual, global event that featured five technical women at Cadence who provided thought leadership on a variety of inspiring topics. This event was a great way to highlight the amazing work and experiences of some of our women at Cadence.
Over 150 people, including Cadence employees and other Bay Area professional technologists, attended the two-hour event. Annamarie Dunn, Vice President of Culture and Talent, kicked off the event. The first hour consisted of 10-minute “lightning talks,” where each speaker presented bite-sized learning lessons to the audience, followed by an hour of networking. The topics included exciting new products they were developing, how to incorporate technology into your personal interests, build your brand, and jump-start your career after a break.
You can check out the full recording of the event, or jump to the different speaker topics:
"Importance of SerDes" by Rania Mekky, Principal Design Engineer, IP
“Jump-Starting Your Career After a Break” by Sanjita Chokshi, Lead Application Engineer
“Tensilica Solutions: Create Your Own Unique Processors and DSPs” by Tahrina Ahmed, Senior Director of Design Enablement Group, Tensilica IP
“Lessons I Learned Building ‘My Brand’ in Cadence” by Alessandra Costa, Vice President, North America Field Engineering

For over a decade, Girl Geek X has provided a platform for 1,000+ women speakers in technology, entrepreneurship, and business, helping women make connections to new jobs, friends, colleagues, and more. We were thrilled to work with them to showcase the innovative technologies Cadence employees are working on. We are looking forward to showcasing the great work of Women at Cadence for another Girl Geek X event in 2021!
