Cadence hosts Girls Who Code founder and CEO Reshma Saujani for talk

International Women's Day

Cadence is excited to celebrate International Women’s Day, which takes place on March 8, with a month-long series of events for our employees across the globe. To thank and recognize the women we work with every day, we organize a number of fun, educational, and inspiring events.

We will be kicking off International Women’s Day on March 4 by welcoming speaker and advocate for gender diversity Reshma Saujani, the founder and CEO of Girls Who Code, for a “fireside chat” in San Jose and webcast for global employees. She will be promoting her new book Brave, Not Perfect, and highlight her experience founding Girls Who Code, a rapidly-growing nonprofit that has introduced computer science to 90,000 girls in just 6 years. Reshma’s TED talk, “Teach girls bravery, not perfection,” has more than four million views and has sparked a worldwide conversation about how we’re raising girls. Employees will receive a signed copy of Reshma’s new book and have an opportunity for a meet and greet.

Cadence is a proud supporter of Reshma and Girls Who Code’s Summer Immersion Program and after-school Clubs program to help close the gender gap in tech. With our sponsorship, Girls Who Code provided a free 7-week intensive computer coding camp to 20 high school girls and tripled their participation in their SF Bay Area clubs program over two years to 3,000 girls.

Other activities slated to celebrate International Women’s Day at Cadence includes an ice cream social with our executives, hosting a Watermark speaking series, painting class, and other events across several sites in the US, Europe, India, and Asia.

Celebrating International Women’s Day is just one way Cadence is creating a culture that appreciates the value of diversity and is inclusive to all its employees.
