Celebrating Women at Cadence

“Drive Your Own Development” Workshop in APAC

Celebrating Women at CadenceThe women in our Cadence SVG teams in Mainland China and Taiwan were thrilled to participate in a full-day career development workshop titled “Drive Your Own Development,” at the beginning of March. Around twenty women with software and application engineer background attended this inspiring event.

The workshop was designed to encourage participants to focus their attention inward, to reflect and identify their inner needs and motivations. It took a fresh approach of numerical ranking and weighted scores to rate the priorities in a person’s professional life and home life that can satisfy her core values. There were five units that were being evaluated: “Awareness,” “How Others Perceive You,” “Career Decisions,” “Disruptions,” and “Your Career Development Plan.”

The training will help participants achieve the best possible performance, fulfillment, and satisfaction. The process identifies which plans, strategies, and resources they need to achieve their personal, professional, and career goals - including information, tools, skills, people, and community in the future.

The participants were inspired by the methodologies and tools introduced during the session. The take-aways and action plans sharing are expressive and valuable, showing they found the North star! Here are what some of the women shared about their experience:

“The workshop helped me to understand the importance of recognizing/identifying my core values, and how important this is to career development. Only with this awareness, I can focus my energy in the right places. Get to know myself early so I don’t waste my life.“

“The personal values part makes me realize my true values, which can guide my future career."

“This workshop made me think deeply about the important values to me. In my reflection, I realized that not only compensation but also sense of achievement at work are significant to me; therefore, I will put my best efforts towards this direction.”

“I didn't seriously think about my career development before. The new scoring method adopted in the course prompted me to start thinking about my career, which is the beginning of change.”

“I will quantify the importance and satisfaction of the personal values associated with each stage of work, making it more precise and more oriented.”

Girls Explore STEM Careers on Women’s Day in PETAH TIKVA

Celebrating Women at CadenceWe empower girls to be fearless learners and become the next generation of innovators and problem solvers all year round. International Women's Day is the perfect time to amplify that message!

On International Women's Day, we invited female high school students to the Cadence Petah Tikva office (near Tel Aviv, Israel). The goal of the event was to encourage more girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM).

The girls met with Orit Greengrass, Vice President of R&D and the site manager, Ayala Makmel, Program Management Director, Shoshi Shamil, Application Engineer Manager, and other insightful women leaders and technologists. The presenters enthusiastically shared their career journeys conveying passion, strength, initiative, and leadership! They also shared the emerging technologies and possible career opportunities in the industry. We also invited Yarden Gerbi, a judoka world champion and Olympic medalist, who showcased her success story of obstacles, failures, dedication, passion, and determination to reach her goals.

Afterward, we hosted roundtable discussions followed by a field tour to visit the modern Petah Tikva office. The girls were excited to get a feel for the work atmosphere and real-world STEM jobs. The entire event was so fun and very educational!

Here are some inspirational words from the events. Orit Greengrass finished her presentation with a powerful quote from Margaret Thatcher and Yarden Gerbi shared some words of encouragement:

"Success… is a mixture of having a flair for the thing that you are doing; knowing that it is not enough, that you have got to have hard work and a certain sense of purpose."

"Parents, empower your children. Always remind them why they are investing and for what purpose. And a little tip from me, kids - dream big! Because with hard work, dedication, self-belief, and ignoring the noises, dreams do come true!"
