CDNLive! 2008 - San Jose: Day 1 ... from the Techtorials!

8 Sep 2008 • 1 minute read
From the floor of CDNLive! 2008 - San Jose
The first day, is always considered the calm before the masses of engineers, managers, and executives arrive at CDNLive. There are several Techtorials presented from each of the 9 tracks. I attended the PCB Design techtorial which included the SPB16.2 What's New features for -
  • The Front End Tools (DEHDL, Constraint Manager, PCB Librarian, ASA)
  • PCB SI
  • Allegro PCB Editor
Aditya Chandra, Dennis Nagle, and Ed Hickey presented the details, and experts from R&D to Marketing and Technical Marketing (Frank Farmar, Hemant Shah, Steve Durrill) were also fielding questions. It was a great opportunity to learn and ask details about what we'll be utilizing with the SPB16.2 release.
I'll add a few pictures from the first day to this post shortly. I'll plan on posting more after the "Welcome" Day 2 (Tuesday). Michael Catrambone (Steering Committee Chairman, UT Starcom, Inc.) and Mike Fister (President and Chief Executive Officer, Cadence Design Systems) will deliver Welcome remarks.
The Keynote Address - "Workloads of the Future"- will be delivered by Dr. Jan Rabaey, Donald O. Pederson Distinguished Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, University of California at Berkeley. There are 6 PCB Design track customer and Cadence presentations scheduled for Tuesday, 2 PCB Design demos, and the Cadence 20 year Celebration!
