BoardSurfers: Power of Information – Quickly Getting Started with Allegro and OrCAD Release 17.4-2019

19 Nov 2019 • 1 minute read

BoardSurfers: Cadence Allegro BlogThe Allegro® and OrCAD® 17.4 release is now available for download and installation. Many of you must have already started using it and many more of you must be planning to install it in the coming days or weeks. Of course, we are all excited, with all the new productivity-enhancing features, the modern and sleek Dark Theme that is also environment-friendly, and enhanced usability of all the products.

We have also rolled up our sleeves to get things ready to make it even easier for you to use the products. We have lined up a series of blogs to highlight and explain changes in addition to the documents installed with the products and available on Cadence Online Support.

We have tried to cover all forms and types of information you might need. So, we have user manuals, Application Notes, troubleshooting information, FAQs (frequently asked questions), and many more are planned as we go along. All of these are available from Cadence Online Support if you search. But wait, we don’t want you to search around. We believe your journey with the product should be as smooth and easy as possible.
Yes, we want you to be productive from day one. So, get started immediately with the new release using the central, “one-stop-shop" 17.4 page. This page gives you all the information needed to install and use the release.

You can also access the page from the URL: https://support.cadence.com/spb174

As you can see from the image, collaterals are divided into categories like Design Authoring, PCB Layout, Library and Design Management, Analog/Mixed-Signal Simulation, IC Package, and Licensing and Installation. When you click a category, relevant sub-categories are displayed based on applications, use-models, or technology to aid the navigation of information.

Conclusion
