PCB Design Workflow Using Sigrity X for Signal and Power Integrity Analysis

23 Jun 2025 • 1 minute read

Jasmine Vital Muniz, Electrical Engineer, OLogic, Inc.

While many electronic design companies can standardize on a single vendor workflow for PCB design, not all can. OLogic, Inc., a Silicon Valley consulting group specializing in robotics, IoT, and consumer electronics, must be flexible in the tools they use to design PCBs because some clients require the use of a specific design tool. At CadenceLIVE 2025, Jasmine Vital Muniz, an engineer at OLogic, explained how they trust Cadence signal and power integrity (SI/PI) tools even in those cases where the workflow must use a non-Cadence tool for PCB design.

Jasmine devoted much of her presentation to reviewing the SI/PI challenges OLogic overcame when designing the Pumpkin Genio 700 EVK PCB, which was developed in partnership with MediaTek.

The Pumpkin Genio 700 EVK is a high-performance Edge AI IoT platform for smart home, interactive retail, industrial, and commercial applications that provides highly responsive edge processing, advanced multimedia, a multi-tasking operating system, and more.

This PCB features high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, HDMI, MIPI, DDR4, and USB3. Jasmine covered the various Sigrity X Platform SI workflows OLogic uses to ensure they meet industry compliance requirements for these high-speed interfaces.

She also reviewed how power delivery network (PDN) simulations with Sigrity X technology verified that sufficient power could be supplied to all the components efficiently while maintaining a stable PDN.

However, possibly the most surprising part of Jessica's talk was how seamlessly OLogic can work with non-Cadence layout tools and bring third-party design data painlessly into the Sigrity X simulation environment using the ODB++ manufacturing file format.

Learn more about Sigrity X technology and learn more about the details of this process in an upcoming webinar presented by OLogic and hosted by EMA Design Automation on July 10: User Stories: Leveraging Cadence Sigrity X from Product Concept to Reality.
