Podcast: PCB 3.0: Mechanical Formats

5 Jul 2024 • Less than one minute read

Companies are under extreme pressure to get new products to market faster, ahead of the competition and without issues. To do so, design teams need to shorten their design and manufacturing cycles. But how do you achieve that?

What would happen if you changed from the traditional design methodology of ECAD and MCAD groups working independently and then hoping the final product can be assembled without issues? What options would you have to work together if ECAD and MCAD tools don’t typically communicate with each other?

The above questions and more will be answered in I-Connect007’s “On the Line With…Cadence” podcast series “PCB 3.0: A New Design Methodology.” In this episode, titled “Mechanical Formats,” Cadence’s Vince DiLello discusses what formats are available to ECAD and MCAD designers that allow communication between each domain for the exchange of critical and important design information. Episode 7 is available to listen to below, as well as on the I-Connect007 website.
