Robert Hanson and Cadence Team Up to Deliver Texas Signal Integrity Event

26 Aug 2011 • 2 minute read

TeamOrCAD, TeamAllegro and Signal Integrity expert Robert Hanson will continue to join forces in response to the OrCAD and Allegro 16.5 product release.  The growing demand for easy to use and affordable Signal Integrity solutions such as OrCAD PCB SI has enabled us to schedule our next High Speed seminar the week of September 19 located at the Cadence office in Austin, Texas.

On the heels of a successful training event in Massachusetts, Robert Hanson will again teach his popular SI/PI/EMC training course on a Cadence campus.  On September 19-23, engineers and PCB designers of all levels of high speed design experience have the opportunity to increase their expertise in signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC at the Cadence office in Austin.

Robert will once again offer his courses either as a daily module or as a multi-day package.  At the time of this posting, room is still available for the Austin event.  To learn more about this event and how to register, see the event listing.

The reviews for Robert’s training continue to be “five stars.”  You can read the review from Jilin Tan who attended the previous seminar in Chelmsford, MA in the comments of that event announcement.

Attendees of the event will also be able to see demonstrations of how Cadence tools such as OrCAD PCB SI and Allegro PCB SI can be used to perform analysis to address the topics on which Robert will teach.  SI tools purchased from Cadence or Cadence Channel Partners within 60 days of the seminar will be made available at a discount to seminar attendees.  Details can be obtained from your local Cadence field representative.

Robert took the time to let us know how valuable the tool demonstrations are to his students.  He recently told us:

"The Cadence tool demonstrations are an excellent learning experience for my students.  They provide the reality of how to simulate and catch signal integrity problems early so that designs can be completed on schedule with greater signal quality.  The demonstrations truly complement the seminar material in that students can see how it works beyond paper material; it is akin to the old adage "a picture is worth a thousand words."  Each morning before class I ask any early arriving student their impression of the demonstration of the previous day.  The typical reply is that it was great because it tied the theory with the actual circuit functionality.  Also, it provides the student with an overall knowledge of the various capabilities of the Allegro and OrCAD PCB SI tools.  One student told me that the main reason he attended the seminar series was to critique the tool set and my training was a secondary consideration.  Another benefit is that the demonstrations are very interactive.  Students can ask "what if" and the Cadence Application Engineer demonstrating the tool will show how the simulation goal can be accomplished."

We thank Robert for his comments and we are looking forward to hearing more of your comments regarding the Robert Hanson seminars.
