Celsius Studio

  • Support for ROMs of External Cooling Devices in Celsius 3D-IC: Celsius 3D-IC now supports Reduced-Order Models (ROMs) of external cooling devices, with particular focus on liquid-cooled cold plates. This reusable reduced-order modeling approach delivers rapid thermal analysis across varying inlet temperatures, flow rates, and power levels, achieving computational speeds several orders of magnitude faster than conventional CFD while preserving full 3D-IC layout resolution. This enables tightly coupled multi-physics co-simulation across thermal, mechanical, and fluid domains with spatially resolved temperatures across the full 3D-IC stack. The result is dramatically enhanced simulation efficiency that eliminates the need for repetitive, time-consuming CFD runs while maintaining exceptional accuracy for advanced thermal management.

For detailed information, refer to the Celsius 3D-IC User Guide on the Cadence Application Support and Knowledge (ASK) portal.

Clarity 3D Solver

  • Redesigned Vertical Port Creation Workflow: The vertical port creation method has been redesigned to reduce manual steps, improve usability, and provide consistent automation for edge‑ and edge‑node–based designs. Two new context-menu options, Create Vertical Lump Port - Single Side and Create Vertical Lump Port - Double Side, are now available to hook the nodes and edge nodes.
  • Post-Processing Enhancements: The following enhancements have been made to Post-Processing in Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench:
    • A property, Finite Slice, has been added to the Slice operation. This property lets you view the field results on a specific area of the geometry without cutting across the entire geometry.
    • In Clarity 3D Layout, a new option, Sync Up View, has been added that lets you view the 2D geometry and the corresponding near field results simultaneously. The move and zoom in/out operations in either GUI are automatically reflected in the other, keeping both views synchronized.
    • In Clarity 3D Workbench, a new option, Average SAR, has been added that calculates the average rate at which radiofrequency (RF) energy is absorbed by the human tissue, measured in watts per kilogram (W/kg). This lets you quickly evaluate RF exposure levels with greater accuracy.
  • Improving EMC Simulation Capabilities: The EMC antenna models are added to Component Library that helps you achieve accurate and realistic EMC simulation results and enables you to detect issues quickly.
  • Searching Frequencies: A Filter text box has been added to the Preview/Save Field dialog box. You can now quickly locate any frequency in the list by specifying the desired value in the Filter text box. The list automatically updates to display only the matching values, making it easier to find specific frequencies in large datasets.
  • BC/Port Visualization Mode: The BC/Port option has been added to the View tab that helps you quickly identify model faces where boundary conditions or port excitations have been applied.
  • Clear Results for Efficient Storage Management: The Clear Results option has been added to the Results tab that lets you quickly remove the simulation-generated result files from your local machine. This helps free up storage space and maintain optimal system performance.

For detailed information, refer to Clarity 3D Layout User Guide and Clarity 3D Workbench User Guide on the Cadence Application Support and Knowledge (ASK) portal.

Layout Workbench

  • User Interface Enhancements in MCP Editor: The Margin field is renamed to Tolerance (for Coord match) in MCP Auto Connection dialog box, and the number of matched pins is now displayed. The Pin Mapping Report dialog box now includes clear matched/unmatched section labels.
  • Translator Options Reorganized: The Conductive Mask Layer Options and Dielectric Mask Layer Options that were previously available under the Rigid-Flex tab of the Translators form have now been separately organized under a new tab called Mask Layers.
  • View Differential Net Pairs in the Net Manager: The Net Manager dialog box provides an additional display mode, Show Diff Pairs, to view all the differential net pairs present in a design. When you choose Show Diff Pairs as the display mode, the net manager adds a new column, Diff Pair, to the table that indicates all the differential net pairs.

For detailed information, refer to Layout Workbench User Guide on the Cadence Application Support and Knowledge (ASK) portal.

Analysis Model Manager

  • Derating Capacitor Models: An option to create derated capacitor models has been added in the Capacitor Libraries section.

For detailed information, refer to Model Management with AMM User Guide on the Cadence Application Support and Knowledge (ASK) portal.

OptimizePI

  • BroadbandSPICE Passivity and Causality Enforcement Option: The setting, Passivity and causality enforcement by BroadbandSPICE, is added to improve model passivity and causality performance during DC‑referenced simulations. This setting is available in Simulation (Advanced) – Field Domain under PowerDC Option.

For detailed information, refer to OptimizePI User Guide on the Cadence Application Support and Knowledge (ASK) portal.

PowerSI

  • (Beta Feature) Advanced DC-AC Fit Workflow Supported: PowerSI supports Advanced DC-AC Fit Workflow to generate accurate full-bandwidth S-parameter for interconnect structures by seamlessly bridging the gap between low-frequency DC resistance and high-frequency electromagnetic simulation data. This workflow addresses a common limitation where legacy solvers cannot align these data sets, which results in numerical instability. To enable this workflow, select the Enable Advanced DC + AC Fit Workflow option available in the General tab of the Options (Tools—Options—Edit Options) form.

For detailed information, refer to PowerSI User Guide on the Cadence Application Support and Knowledge (ASK) portal.

PowerTree

  • Dynamic Starting Components: PowerTree now detects mismatches between the starting component settings and the layout netlist and lets you update the power tree using the Dynamically Update Starting Component feature available in the Starting Components form.

For detailed information, refer to PowerTree User Guide on the Cadence Application Support and Knowledge (ASK) portal.

SPEEDEM

  • Hybrid Solver Performance Acceleration: The core solvers of SPEEDEM have been optimized to deliver substantial speedups in multi-CPU environments, directly benefiting complex hybrid solver simulations as follows:
    • FDTD Solver runs up to 3X faster than the previous release.
    • High-Performance Computing (HPC) option for circuit solver runs approximately 2X faster than the last release. To enable this feature, select the Enable HPC for circuit solver option in the HPC for Level-3 Simulation form.
  • Multithreaded Circuit Solver Stability: The multithreaded circuit solver is now more robust. For designs that previously encountered convergence or stability issues, selecting the Enable Multi-threaded Matrix Solver option with the Always option in the HPC for Level-3 Simulation form can now resolve certain failure cases.

For detailed information, refer to SPEEDEM User Guide on the Cadence Application Support and Knowledge (ASK) portal.

XtractIM

  • Support for Temperature Map in XtractIM: XtractIM now supports loading a temperature map to perform more accurate, temperature-dependent simulations. In the Stackup form, you can load a temperature map file and then define the temperature-dependent conductivity for metals within the Material Manager form. A preview option, Temperature Map, lets you view the temperature distribution as a color overlay on your layout before running the analysis.

For detailed information, refer to XtractIM User Guide on the Cadence Application Support and Knowledge (ASK) portal.
