Sigrity and Systems Analysis 2025.1 Release Now Available

The Sigrity and Systems Analysis (SIGRITY/SYSANLS) 2025.1 release is now available for download at Cadence Downloads. For the list of CCRs fixed in this release, see the README.txt file in the installation hierarchy.

License Key Update for SIGRITY/SYSANLS Products

With the SIGRITY/SYSANLS 2025.1 release, updated license keys are required for all products. Customers using the 2024.1 or earlier license keys must obtain new keys to ensure compatibility. For assistance with license key updates, contact your Cadence representative.

Systems Analysis 2025.1

Common Feature in Clarity 3D Solver and Celsius Studio

  • Ribbon-Based User Interface Introduced: Celsius 3D Workbench and Clarity 3D Workbench now feature a refreshed user interface built around a modern ribbon layout. This layout replaces traditional drop-down menus with organized tabs and groups, making frequently used commands more accessible and logically arranged for a smoother user experience.

Clarity 3D Solver

  • Enhanced Wave Port Configuration with Extrusion Distance: A new Extrusion Distance option has been introduced in the Port dialog box for wave ports in Clarity 3D Layout. This feature extends all intersecting geometry and boundary conditions along the wave surface, repositioning the wave port to the end of the extended geometry. This enhancement enables more accurate mode excitation and improves the precision of S-parameter calculations.
  • Usability and Performance Enhancements in Optimality: The following enhancements have been made in Optimality Intelligent System Explorer to improve usability and optimization capabilities in Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench:
    • The GUI has been refined for better usability, with clearer separation of function parameters and objectives.
    • Optimality support is now integrated into the Clarity 3D Layout Capacitance Extraction workflow, enabling more efficient and accurate optimization.
    • A new Tabbed Routing (Single Ended) template in Clarity 3D Layout allows trapezoidal tabs on traces to manage impedance and reduce crosstalk in breakout and open field regions.
  • Field Visualization and Probe Point Enhancements: The following enhancements have been made in postprocessing in Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench:
    • Frequency-based animation has been added to visualize the complex real and imaginary components of field quantities across selected frequencies for improved analysis.
    • A new option, Probe Field, has been added in the Property panel to select the field quantities that you want to plot.
    • Field results can now be plotted at different frequencies for probe points, enhancing frequency-domain analysis capabilities.
  • Options Dialog Box Enhancements: The following improvements have been made to the Options dialog box in Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench to enhance usability, simulation control, and modeling flexibility. The Metal Type settings have been enhanced to offer more control over simulation accuracy and performance.
    • PEC: Models metals as perfect electric conductors using only surface mesh.
    • Solve Inside: Solves fields within the volume mesh of the metal.
    • Broadband Fitting: Combines DC Thickness and Solve Inside methods to model the skin depth across wide frequency ranges.
    • DC Thickness: Optimized for faster simulation with three sub-options:
      • Infinite: Uses material properties only.
      • Effective (default): Uses both material properties and thickness.
      • Adaptive: Applies an adaptive method per surface mesh element for complex geometries.
  • Clarity 3D Setup Enhancements: The Clarity 3D Setup dialog box has been enhanced as follows:
    • A new column, Status, has been added in the Project section that displays the status of a simulation run.
    • The following new context-menu options are now available on the Project section:
      • Open in <tool_name>: Select this option to open the design in the tool that supports the file extension.
      • Open Simulation Summary Log: Click this option to open the <design_name>_table_summary.log file.
      • Open Post Processing File: Click this option to view the postprocessing result in the specified tool.
  • Component Library Enhanced: The following predefined Vendor Components are now available in the Component Library panel in Clarity 3D Workbench:
    • Highly detailed, anatomically accurate human body models based on medical data from the U.S. Library of Medicine’s Visible Human Project. The available models are:
      • NEVA Comprehensive Human Body Model – Female (requires third-party license)
      • NEVA Comprehensive Human Body Model – Male (requires third-party license)
      • NEVA Foundational Human Body Model – Female
      • NEVA Foundational Human Body Model – Male
    • Encrypted connector and antenna models from JAE, Huber+Suhner, and Johanson.
  • Beta Features: The following beta features have been added in Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench:
    • Clarity PI Flow: Evaluates and optimizes the power delivery network (PDN) in high-speed electronic systems, such as PCBs, IC packages, and SoICs.
    • Clarity Plane Wave Flow: Evaluates how a PCB or electronic system responds to external electromagnetic fields—specifically plane waves—which is crucial for Electromagnetic Susceptibility (EMS) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) analysis.
    • Eigen Mode Flow: Activates a new Eigen Mode workflow in Clarity 3D Workbench that calculates the eigenmodes or resonances of a lossy/lossless 3D structure along with unloaded quality factors and mode field distributions at those frequencies.

Celsius Studio

  • Multiphase VRM Support Added in Celsius 3D Workbench: When importing SPD files from Celsius Layout, the Celsius 3D automatically detects and imports each VRM phase as distinct objects. Phases with identical nominal and sense voltages are grouped into a single VRMGroup, reducing manual setup effort and ensuring accurate power modeling. 
  • Model-Based Workflow Introduced in Celsius 3DIC: Celsius 3DIC workflow now supports a model-based approach that enables direct creation and instantiation of reusable design entities. This refined flow with Block Model Manager and Block Instance Manager, simplifies the setup and enhances design efficiency, particularly when working with complex multi-die systems.
  • Optimality Intelligent System Explorer Enabled in Celsius 3DIC: The Optimality Intelligent System Explorer has been integrated in Celsius 3DIC, leveraging AI-driven multidisciplinary analysis and optimization (MDAO) technology. This integration empowers you to optimize your designs quickly and efficiently without compromising on accuracy. The optimality interface provides a clearer separation between function parameters and objective functions, making it easier to configure optimality parameters.
  • Power Python API Module Added in Celsius 3DIC: Celsius 3DIC now includes support for the Power Python API module, allowing you to implement adaptive power and thermal control strategies using Python scripts. With the Power Python module, you can write and test Python scripts that monitor device temperatures and apply dynamic power switching strategies. This includes invoking thermal throttling to prevent overheating during high workloads or implementing advanced control mechanisms, such as multi-control and Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control, which maintain the system in a stable, predictable state by continuously switching power maps based on real-time feedback.
  • Hex Mesh Algorithm Added: You can now select Hex Dominant as a meshing algorithm in Celsius 3DIC, enabling structured hexahedral meshing for improved simulation accuracy and convergence. To use this feature, ensure ANSA BETA CAE is installed and licensed on your machine.

Sigrity 2025.1

Layout Workbench

  • User Interface Improvements in Layout Workbench Tools: Starting with the 2025.1 base release, all Sigrity Layout Workbench tools feature an intuitive user interface consisting of reorganized menus, streamlined toolbars and options, and vibrant icons to boost efficiency and productivity. In the previous release, you had to select the Use Improved User Interface check box to view these UI improvements. This check box has now been removed, and the improved UI is available by default.
  • Translator Settings Reorganized: The translation settings available under the Settings tab have been functionally organized under dedicated categories to provide an intuitive experience.
  • Edit Cutting Boundary Dialog Enhanced and Renamed as Edit Cutting Polygon Dialog: The Edit Cutting Boundary dialog box is renamed as Edit Cutting Polygon dialog box with several options added to provide new polygon cutting capabilities. To access the revamped dialog box, click the Summary Cutting Polygon icon available on the Processing toolbar.

OptimizePI

  • Circuit Generation Wizard Improved to Select All Power Nets: The Circuit Generation Wizard now allows selecting all the power nets at once during the Impedance Observation and Decoupling Capacitors setup. The Power Net drop-down list includes an option, PowerNets, which lets you select and display all the power nets simultaneously. Earlier, this wizard allowed selecting only a single power net, which caused inconvenience in the case of multiple observation points, thus hampering user productivity.

PowerSI

  • SI Metrics Automation Workflow Added for S-Parameters Assessment: The SI Metrics Automation workflow is added to automate the PowerSI S-Parameter Assessment workflow. The new workflow provides automated layout-level signal integrity performance evaluation. You can leverage this workflow to quickly compare up to three board designs with comprehensive signal integrity metrics and waveform visualizations. This workflow is available as a separate executable, SIMetrics_Automation.exe, in the tools/bin directory of your local installation.
  • Model Extraction (Grid Routings/Designs) Workflow Added: Introduced a new workflow in PowerSI that seamlessly extracts models from grid routings and designs. You can access this workflow from the Switch Workflow pane through the Model Extraction (Grid Routings/Designs) option that redirects you to XcitePI for the verification of power delivery networks (PDN) and high-speed I/O systems.

T2B

  • Parameters to Support PDN Domain: The Component parameters now support the PDN Domain, marking the beginning of a specification that describes the connection between two pad rail terminals through an on-die decoupling capacitance PDN model.

XcitePI

  • Support for Multi-Layer Structures Between TSV and TSV Bump: XcitePI is enhanced to handle interposer cases with multiple metal layers between TSV and TSV bumps. This update also introduces support for adding BRDL_VIA layer via shapes to represent advanced packaging designs.

SPEED2000

  • Sigrity SPEED2000 Available Only in Maintenance Mode for Existing Customers: Starting from this release, Sigrity SPEED2000 will be available only in maintenance mode for the existing customers because it has been officially discontinued as a standalone product. The features and functionalities that were once part of Sigrity SPEED2000 have now been seamlessly integrated into the latest offerings from the Sigrity X product line. This includes advanced solutions like Sigrity X SPEEDEM, Sigrity X PowerSI, and Sigrity X Aurora, which provide not only the capabilities you expect but also enhanced performance and support. All users are strongly encouraged to transition to these upgraded solutions to benefit from the latest innovations and continued assistance in your projects.

    If you used a specific feature in SPEED2000 and cannot find it in SPEEDEM, PowerSI, or Sigrity Aurora, contact your account representative to identify a suitable replacement in the Sigrity X product line.


Analysis Model Manager

  • (Beta Feature) User Interface Improvements: Analysis Model Manager now includes an option to activate an improved user interface, which is aimed at supporting an enterprise-level signal integrity library implementation. The improved user interface can be activated by clicking the Use Improved User Interface check box available on General Settings page in the Analysis Model Manager - Options dialog box. 

Release-Related Updates

Documentation PDFs Removed from the Install Media

To reduce the overall media size and improve installation time, the product documentation PDFs will no longer be included in the install media starting with Sigrity 2025.1. As a result, you will no longer have immediate access to the documentation PDFs after installing the release. However, you can still access the PDFs from the Cadence ASK site or the CDA online mode, as follows:

  • Cadence Ask: Click the Download SIGRITY/SYSANLS 2025.1 Docs icon on the Product Manuals page at https://support.cadence.com..
  • CDA Online mode: Click Browse All Manuals - <User Manual Name> - Table of Contents – View PDF (or Download pdf icon).
