What's Good About AMS Simulator Fonts, Models, and More? It's in SPB16.3!

6 Oct 2010 • 2 minute read

The SPB16.3 release of the Allegro AMS Simulator environment contains a few additional features (which I've not yet covered in my prior posts) that I'll wrap-up in this post.

Highlighting in circuit and out files

With the SPB16.3 release, the PSpice circuit and out file syntax are presented in easy to read colors that highlight the different groups such as text, numbers, comments, expressions, operator, and keyword. You can also specify your own color schemes for the files by editing the SpiceSyntax.ini file in the <CDS-installation-folder>/tools/pspice directory.

Changing Font Properties

You can now make the labels more readable by changing font size, color, effects, and style.

Also, you can specify default fonts for label text - go to Tools> Options> Probe Settings> Font Settings and click Change label font.

Exporting Comma Separated Value (CSV) File

You can now easily export trace information as CSV files by choosing File Export Comma Separated (.csv file) in the PSpice probe window. The trace information for specified variables will be exported to a location and file you specified and can be read using tools, such as Microsoft Excel.

Faster dat file import and export

In the SPB16.2 release, the performance of large dat files with sizes of 2GB or more was improved. In the SPB16.3 release, the performance enhancement on opening a dat file has been improved for dat files of all sizes.
