What's Good About Reflection?

28 Dec 2009 • 1 minute read

What's good about it is that we don't need to reflect occasionally.

We can reflect on our lives often. During this Christmas and Hanukkah time, many Judeo–Christian people celebrate the spirituality of the season by reflecting on family, friends, and colleagues and the blessings of our lives throughout the year.

This past year has brought tougher times for our industry. Some of my friends have been struggling through and some are finding new directions to explore. Sure, the American and world economy has suffered a blow and we've collectively and individually not been as prosperous as in years gone by. But we do have friends, we do have family - and we can always reflect on our good times. We're startting to see good signs of an improving economy and within our own industry.

We can reflect on the American soldiers who selflessly give of themselves every day - in harm's way - sacrificing for each of us. Say a prayer that they remain safe and return to their families soon. We can reflect on our neighbors and friends, helping those who need a kind word, a random act of kindness. We can reflect on our own family - the blessings they've given us over these years - the blessings yet waiting for us down the road.

We can reflect often - we can be thankful - often. Not just during this holiday season, but a bit more often perhaps.

A very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Holidays to all my friends!

May you all enjoy a healthy, prosperous and enjoyable New Year!
