Cadence is awarded a second time for driving the development of the Taiwan semiconductor industry

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. announced that it has won the 2023 International Partner Office (IPO) Award, “Soft Value Partners” category, from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) for the second time. Cadence’s continued innovation of electronic designs and software technology greatly promotes the development of Taiwan's semiconductor industry and also enhances Taiwan’s competitiveness in the world.

The Minister of Economic Affairs, Mei-Hua Wang, presented the IPO awards to the winning companies at a ceremony, and Mr. Brian Sung, country manager of Cadence Taiwan, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Cadence Taiwan is the only award-winning EDA company this year and has been awarded for the second time for its contribution to support the innovation and development of the semiconductor industry ecosystem.

In line with the Taiwan government's industrial development policy, this year Cadence announced it will expand its investment in Taiwan and cooperated with the Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs on a program named "Full Flow Intelligent System Design R&D Partner Program." In this program, Cadence expanded its R&D investment in Taiwan and enhanced its cooperation with academic and research institutions to develop new capabilities for design and production, providing a vertically integrated design platform for a variety of industries. In addition, to advance Cadence’s Intelligent System Design strategy in the Taiwan market, the company is continuing to leverage AI in its design tools and flows to accelerate the design efficiency of next-generation products.

In Taiwan, the local Cadence office serves as an R&D hub that supports the growth of local system and semiconductor businesses. Over the years, Cadence has collaborated with the local academic community, and it is working to expand these collaborations to unify the connection between Cadence R&D, university researchers, and the broader industry ecosystem. To cultivate more R&D talent and develop technologies, Cadence is further strengthening its collaborations with local universities to facilitate chip and system design research and cultivate talent.

"We are so pleased to receive this award for our continuous investment in the research and development in Taiwan, and we’ve played an active, important role in enabling local customers to achieve success,” said Brian Sung, country manager of Cadence Taiwan. “We will be committed to enabling local companies to create innovative chips to boards to complete systems, driving industrial transformation, upgrading with A,I and comprehensively supporting industry technological innovation to continue to work closely with our local ecosystem to create continued growth opportunities in Taiwan.”
