Regarding the File size during the seakeeping simulation.

Halder

Dear Sir,
I am writing this email regarding the file size for the seakeeping simulation. Before starting the simulation, the file size is around 7GB. After the complete seakeeping simulation, the file size becomes 60-70 GB and more. Further, I decomposed the unsteady file around 120-130 files. The file size again increases. Therefore, I request you kindly guide me on how to reduce the file size.

With best regards,
Paresh Halder

    Hello Paresh,

Is it the democase 12 you're talking about or a custom made seakeeping case ? I would assume the latter as democase 12 case grid isn't that big.

Anyway there are two reasons for a constant increase in directory size :

    1) Automatic grid refinement is on, and with not suited settings, the cell count could increase significantly.

    2) Volume probes are on. So you have periodic outputs being generated, probably at a rather high frequency.

Obviously a combination of those two reasons would make things worse.

    Best regards,

    Romain
