Hello, we have worked on a vessel with appendages - a Resistance case.

1.now we are trying to take resistance individually in cf view  for the appendages like for example if i have a rudder i want the resistance of it separately (pressure, viscous, total).

2. can we extract the streamlines data in cf view.

Thank you.

    Hi,

    1. Yes, for this purpose, you need to create a "sub-body" before the simulation. Hence, the ship with all its appendages is a "body" and you can define "sub-body" for any appendage. As a result, the solver will output the resistance values (pressure, viscous and total) separately for each of them.

    2. Yes, you can easily do that with the dedicated script, explained here: Cfview > User Guide > Marine Specific Features > Macros > Streamlines to Upright Position. In CFview, it is present in the Macros menu.

    Best regards,

    Benoit
