when doing the result analysis I have the following Problem:After clicking on the Cutting Plane, it creates a cutting Plane in a random direction and shows the surface it is cutting
However, as soon as I click on "Y" to set the Plane normal to the Y axis, this monocoloured orange surface disappears
Nothing else was changed, except for pressing the Y. I can#t find any option to get the cut surface back, so I cant visualize my Results. When selecting the cutting Plane and creating a Mach-Probe it does give me the scale, but since theres no surface to display it on I can't see any other data.
Any ideas on what could solve this?
it is just an assumption: Are you visualising the result of the case with symmetry plane? If this is the case: I noticed that the Y-coordinate is slightly negative, so I assume that the cutting plane is positioned slightly outside of your simulation domain - right next to the symmtery plane. If you use Ctrl+middle mous button, you can translate your cutting plane in the direction of its normal vector (in this case the y-direction. Doing so you can position it inside your domain. You can also use the move the plane section: change the direction to y-direction and specify an adequate stepping. Not you can use the arrows to move your cutting plane. Last option would be to specify the origin with a value.
Please let me know, if this solves your problem.
Just adding a point: when analysing the results of a symmteric model, where a mirror plane has been used, I would recommend to visualise the results right away on the mirror plane, as it is a little more simple.
Thanks for your help, I was using the full model. However moving the plane still worked...Also in negative directions
Ah okay that is interesting. I'm glad it now works.
