Is there a SKILL code which will enable me to move parts in Allegro, by grid values, using arrow keys? I want to select the part and then hit the shift-left arrow key to move the part one grid point left. Pressing shift-left twice will move the part two grid points. It will be just like moving the part in the direction I want but with more control.
Sounds like you have used Mentor Expedition before. That would be nice to have.
For now, not having a direct solution, you could map your keys such as F5, F6, F7,F8 to do the same thing.
There is no intellgence between mapping and the grids but you could do something like:
alias F5 ix -5
alias F6 ix 5
alias F7 iy -5
alias F8 iy 5
Writing a wrapper in skill to assign the keys that way is not difficult. I have never tried to intercept the arrow keys so I am not sure if they can be intercepted or not.

Thank you for the feedback. I was trying to figure out why it wasn't working, but it was because I was not in the application mode. I was hoping I could get this to work without going into the application mode since I usually do not use application mode.
