I'm new to Concept HDL. I need to know what databases Concept HDL is able to link with. Can it link to parts in a Oracle or SQL database?
The Part(or call Body) in Concept HDL should be linked with Symbol(footprint) in Allegro.And all of these components information can be managered by any PDM Tool.
Currently, no "dynamic" direct linking exists to Oracle/SQL databases. However, several customers will "dump" the relevant content of their corporate databases/MRP systems on a periodic basis (weekly, nightly, etc.) and utilize a small program (PERL, shell-script, C routine, etc.) to format the content into the Physical Part Table (PPT) format used by ConceptHDL.Jerry
What is an example of a PDM tool that can be used?
You could link into an Oracle or other SQL database with a small customization. This would elimiate the need for PTF files and allow you to integrate into PDM systems in a where nice way. I have done this for tools like Orcad or DxDesigner/DxDatabook. It's just great ...Cadence has a good PDM solution if you only care about managing your Cadence data.
