I know this is a long shot, but... I'm looking to create Concept HDL symbol images for every part in our library. Has anyone written an SVG writer for Concept HDL? My backup alternative is printing to file via SVGmaker. Other suggestions for creating vector gaphics suitable for browser viewing are welcome.

Hi Bruno,Thanks for that. I downloaded your tool and am impressed.However, I have already now written my own SVG symbol writer. It was a challenging exercise as my Perl is a bit rusty.The good news is that it is possible!I will be generating the images on-the-fly via a web browser. I incorporate the physical part image so that all the symbols and footprints appear on the one page. Because SVG graphics are scalable, this solution is quite elegant. Requiring the SVG plugin is the only nuisance.I could generate full Concept svg images the same way but we have purchased the Cadence PDF Publisher which does a great job of making the intelligent Schematic available without the "customer" requiring Concept.Cheers, Dave
Hi Dave,as you can see the generated SVG files are object oriented. The symbols are symbolobjects and arcs are arcs and text is text. Printdriver SVGmaker can not make so smart SVG files. There only may be lines and text or single chars. Generating your images on-the-fly via a web-server you also can form this SVG files via XSLT-formatter on-the-fly to pdf. Looking on the results of my csa2svg tool you will find a file pages.fo for this purpose. We are using SVG and WEBCGM for several years on documentation purpose. Our customers requires webcgm images for their documentation. Using webcgm there are also viewers and plugins with redlining capability, what is helpfull for net-reviews. The advantage on SVG and WEBCGM for documentation is independent scalability for graphics and fonts and font-exchange. regards Bruno
