Operating Point Measurements in AWR

SimTech

Operating point information is displayed as tooltips or element parameters for active devices at the DC bias point of a circuit. This information includes DC and small signal characteristics and measurements for the device. The information is specific to each device type supported. For example, the OP information for a Gummel-Poon BJT (GBJT) includes hybrid pi model parameters, which is not applicable to MOSFETs. This information can also be plotted vs. DC voltage or current, or as it varies dynamically vs. time.

Operating point measurements can also be plotted on graphs (please see the image).

- Right-click on the graph in the project browser, and select Add Measurement...

- Under Meas. Type select Nonlinear > Op Point.

- For DC operating point measurements, select OP_DC under Measurement; to plot the dynamic value of a measurement during time domain simulation, select OP_DYN.

- Use the browser to select the Measurement Component, i.e. the specific value on the element of interest.
