Why cannot I see connection lines in the layout?

In AWR v17, red lines in the layout showing which elements should be connected are not showing up.

To resolve the issue, make sure that the RatsNest layer has its Visible setting selected in the Drawing Layers 2D Properties dialog.

By default, rats lines only draw for the current level of hierarchy you are viewing. You can tell the layout to display the rats lines at all levels of hierarchy by having a layout window active and selecting Layout > Layout Mode Properties. Then, select the Draw all rat lines option.

Now, the red lines in the layout start showing which elements should be connected.

Now that you have read the article, answer the following questions in the comment box:

Question:  A _____________ function attempts to move shapes so that all shapes are connected.

a) Snapping

b) Move

c) Boolean

d) Rotate

    A) Snapping

Snapping Function: The snapping function in graphic design or computer-aided design (CAD) software is a feature that automatically aligns and connects shapes to create a more cohesive and organized layout. When activated, the snapping function helps users position and move shapes precisely, ensuring that they align with other elements on the canvas. This functionality is particularly useful in scenarios where maintaining a clean and connected design is crucial, such as when working with flowcharts, diagrams, or other visuals where shapes need to be logically arranged. Snapping enhances efficiency by simplifying the process of aligning and arranging elements within a design environment.
