How to view and simulate the AWR layout in Clarity

The AWR Design Environment platform allows connection to the Clarity 3D Solver, which enables EM structures created in the AWR Design Environment platform to be simulated with the Clarity 3D Solver and view the layout in the Clarity 3D Workbench. Steps to view and simulate the AWR EM structure in Clarity are:

Step 1: Ensure that Clarity is installed on the local computer and registered as an external solver. To check this, open the tools menu and click on configure external EM solvers.  From the list, select Clarity and then choose the register option.

Step 2: Right-click on the layout under the Project tree and select the set simulator option.  And make sure to check the box for Clarity. Click OK to proceed.

Step 3: Now, it is time to analyze the layout. Click on the analyze button and the simulation process will begin.

Step 4: Once the simulation completes, to view the layout and results in Clarity, right-click on the layout and select open in native editor.

Step 5: A new Clarity window will pop up, displaying the AWR layout. Here, you can explore different setups such as ports, boundary conditions and more importantly, the results.
