Global variable sweep in Monte carlo analysis

Hi All,

I am trying to run MC (Monte carlo ) simulation on a design.

I am unable to sweep a Global variable in MC simulation unlike corner analysis.

Can anyone please suggest a way to perform MC simulation along with sweeping global variable ?

Any details will be great help.

thanks

This is nothing to do with the monte carlo being involved in the sweep. It's because your sweep definition is invalid. You've asked to sweep from 1.9 to 2.2 with a step of 0.5. There is only 0.3 between 1.9 and 2.2, so a step size of 0.5 is too large.

What should be happening is that ADE should complain about the invalid sweep, but it doesn't in this case (I'll file a change request to correct that, because it doesn't seem to have come up before). Other invalid sweep setups do get flagged.

If you pick a smaller step size (i.e. one smaller than the interval between the From and the To ) it should work - assuming you're not using a very old IC617 version. You didn't mention which version you're using.

    Andrew.

I filed CCR 2298625  to get the invalid sweep handled properly (if you'd have just put 1.9:0.5:2.2 without the from/to stuff around it, it would have simply simulated the first point) or to flag an error appropriately.

    Dear Mr. Beckett

Thank you for filing the change request. And you are absolutely right, that was my negligence, and with step size as 0.05, it worked without a problem.

Thanks a lot for pointing it out

    Best regards

    Ren
