Monte Carlo simulations not proceedings for the last few jobs/points

Hello All,

I have been observing my MC simulation which starts of completely fine with multiple jobs running in parallel but towards the end when only a few jobs are left it seems to get stagnated and not moving forward for hours and the number of running jobs reduces to one.

The schematic simulates completes fast and fine but not the extracted view which halts as indicated in the below  screenshot. Suspending and resuming the job doesn't help.

In some posts I see suggestion to use LSCS. In my case I am using the LBS job setup mode in IC618 ISR31. I don't see any specific option to select LSCS Vs ICRP.

Any suggestions/tips will be very helpful.

thanks

Another idea - are you using Options→Job Setup or are you using Right Mouse→Job Setup over the test name? The LSCS/ICRP is only under the pulldown menu Options→Job Setup. Make sure that LSCS is chosen from there, and having done that you can control the number of jobs in each group as covered in the linked post further up the thread. Also would be worth looking at the simulator log to see what is going on when you say they are "stagnating" - are the simulations actually proceeding?

If running in LSCS mode, the Run Summary assistant should be showing two boxes between the counts t the top and the list of histories (the top box is for simulation jobs, the second box is for netlisting jobs):

thanks Andrew , I was using the  Right Mouse→Job Setup over the test name. I tried the Options→Job Setup and it shows the LSCS/ICRP  radio buttons.

By stagnation I meant the simulation progress bar in the Status window of the History box doesn't move and when I check the log at that point I see bunch of Memory related messages popping up unlike the preceding Point IDs. I think after leaving it for many hours it moves to the next Point ID like. Screenshot below  looks to me it was having troubling at Point ID 2572 but I may be wrong ?

As I said, it would be far more instructive to look at the spectre log file for the point that is taking a long time than to look at the main Virtuoso log file. Maybe spectre is running on a slow machine, maybe for convergence reasons it's taking a lot of points - the reasons could be numerous and varied.  The Virtuoso log file tells you very little...
