Hi,

can someone help in locking the placement of the Instance (should not be able to move the instance once i lock the position) in the virtuoso layout editor using skill..

It is equvivalent to this command SET_OBJECT_FIXED_EDIT(GET_SELECTION) 1 (1 means postion fixed, 0 means postion is notfixed).This command is available in the IC compiler (ICC tool).

Thanks for your support,

Bharath.

     Hi Jazzmatazz,

    The function is doing what it is documented to do:

    lxHiUnlockSelected(
    g_all
     )
         => t | nil

    Changes the placement status of the selected objects from locked, placed, or firm to unplaced. If the original placement status is unknown or unplaced, this command does not change it.

    What you can do, however, is to set the "status" attribute of the cell(s) to 'nil' and this is displayed as "none" in the Edit Instance Properties form.  So, use SKILL to iterate over the instances and set the "status" attribute of each one, something like the following assuming they are selected:

      geGetSelectedSet()~>status = nil
    => (nil nil nil nil)

     In this example I selected 4 instances.

    Hope this helps.

    Lawrence.
