How to lock the cell placement

Hi,

can someone help in locking the placement of the Instance (should not be able to move the instance once i lock the position) in the virtuoso layout editor using skill..

It is equvivalent to this command SET_OBJECT_FIXED_EDIT(GET_SELECTION) 1 (1 means postion fixed, 0 means postion is notfixed).This command is available in the IC compiler (ICC tool).

Thanks for your support,

Bharath.

    Martin,

    Derek's code has a missing prog, and should not be calling return as is. It should be:

    procedure(myFilterFunction(obj)
      prog(()
        if(obj~>objType == "inst" && obj~>myFixedProperty then
            return()
        else
            return(t)
        )
      )
    )

    or:

    procedure(myFilterFunction(obj)
        if(obj~>objType == "inst" && obj~>myFixedProperty then
            nil
        else
            t
        )
    )

    If using IC615 or IC616, there's the built-in "selection protection" which can be found under Edit->Select->Set Selection Protection in the layout editor. If using an older version, you could use my prototype of the same functionality which can be found in solution 11522924. My code uses a similar approach to Derek, but is just packaged up with a set of functions to highlight the "protected" objects, to override the protection, and so on.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
