Top level pins and Label info.

I have a bondpad pcell with a pin and label placed on the passivisation opening layer.

I need to find out the text of the pin or label. 

I'm using the GetTrueOverlaps() function to return the db info for the pin and label.  The problem I'm running into is that the returned db info on the pin and label do not have the ~>theLabel property.

for the ~>text property it lists "name", which is not the label.

If I use the GetOverLaps() function is will find the pin info on the lower levels.

Whats going on here?  Why do top level labels and pins have different db entries?  Do I need a symbol view for the cell or something like that?

    My guess is that the label is actually a "textDisplay" not a label. textDisplays are objects which show the value of a property on an associated object. So if obj~>objType is "textDisplay", and the obj~>text is "name", then the pin name will be given by obj~>associate~>name .

    If it's the "pin" you have, then in practice it's probably the pin figure. So you need to start from the pin figure, and get to the pin, then the terminal - and from that you can find the name:

    pinFig~>pin~>term~>name
